Overview
ScalezBiz ("ScalezBiz," "we," "us") builds software apps for small businesses, including Shopify apps such as Scale-Z Barcode Importer (together, the "Apps"), and operates the website at scalezbiz.com (the "Site"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site or an App you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
When you install or use an App
- Your Shopify store domain and basic store details (such as store name and plan) needed to operate the App.
- An access token issued by Shopify, which lets the App act on your store with the permissions you approved (for example, reading and updating products and barcodes).
- Product and variant data the App processes on your behalf, such as titles, SKUs, and barcodes, and files you upload for import.
- Subscription, billing status, and usage information (for example, number of scans used). Payments are processed by Shopify; we do not receive your card details.
- Technical logs, such as timestamps, error messages, and request identifiers, used to keep the App reliable and secure.
Our Apps are designed to work with product data and do not intentionally collect personal information about your customers. If a feature ever requires customer data, we will request only the access it needs and update this policy.
When you visit the Site or contact us
- Messages and contact details you send us (such as your name and email address).
- Basic, aggregated usage analytics (pages viewed, referring site, device and browser type) collected through privacy-conscious analytics.
How we use information
- To provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Apps and the Site.
- To process subscriptions and enforce plan limits.
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- To detect, prevent, and address security issues, abuse, and technical problems.
- To communicate important service updates. We do not sell your information.
Third-party services
We rely on trusted providers to run our services. They process information only on our behalf:
- Shopify: platform, app authentication, and billing.
- Railway: hosting for App servers and databases.
- Vercel and Cloudflare: hosting, delivery, and security for the Site.
- Email and support tools: to send and receive messages at scalezbiz.com addresses.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of ScalezBiz, our users, or others.
Data retention and deletion
We keep App data for as long as your subscription or installation is active. When you uninstall an App, we delete the store's data within 30 days, except for limited records we must keep for legal, billing, or security purposes. We respond to Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks (customer data request, customer data erasure, and shop data erasure) within the timeframes Shopify requires.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, and limited storage of credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, emailsupport@scalezbiz.com. We aim to respond within 30 days. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
International transfers
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
Children
Our Apps and Site are for businesses and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date, and notify you of material changes where appropriate.
